About the event
The food industry has seen many changes over the last several decades -- new technologies have been introduced into the way we cook, manufacture, and present food products to consumers. Through a series of mini-lectures, participants will gain an insight into the potential of three-dimensional (3D) printing technologies as assistive tool to allow consumers to design, create, and “engineer” food with personalized shapes, colours, and textures. We will further explore the potential of 3D food printing in catalysing the movement towards personalized nutrition, where individuals consume a diet tailored to their individual needs to deliver optimum health and wellness. Participants will also have to opportunity to observe 3D food printing in action via a live printing demo.
