About the event
This talk will share what eduTech Innovation we are doing here in Nanyang Technological University (NTU) to equip our future workforce with skillsets for the Industry 4.0 era. Specifically, Virtual & Augmented Reality (VAR) Technology are being developed in house with innovative pedagogy and assessment integrated for students to learn manufacturing through interactive VAR hands-on. An immersive VAR learning environment is established in The Hive @ NTU. In this learning space, the students from year 2 to 4 and the adult learners taking NTU FlexiMasters and continuing education courses are doing VAR Technology-enhanced Learning (VARTeL). Also, VARTeL has become an interdisciplinary education tool for engineering students to learn mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, chemical engineering, and etc. A large-scale experiment is currently undergoing under MOE’s Tertiary Research Funding Scheme to investigate the benefits to our students on the use of VARTeL in terms of Situational Interest, Self-efficacy, and Affordance. VARTeL solution will be demonstrated in this talk followed by a Q&A session at the end of the session.
