Speakers

Ms Gan Siow Huang is the Minister of State for Education and Manpower. She is the Member of Parliament for Marymount Single Member Constituency.

 

Ms Gan is a member of the National Jobs Council that oversees the development of job opportunities and skills training for Singaporeans amidst the COVID-19 pandemic. A strong advocate for the SkillsFuture movement, she is part of the Future Economic Council that drives the growth and transformation of Singapore’s economy for the future.

 

Prior to joining politics, Ms Gan was a military officer in the Republic of Singapore Air Force. She became the first female Brigadier General in the Singapore Armed Forces where she led the development of smart airbases and commanded daily operations of the largest formation in the Air Force.

 

After more than 25 years of military career, she joined Labour Movement as Deputy CEO of NTUC’s Employment and Employability Institute, a private company that provides career guidance, job-matching and skills upgrading services.

 

Ms Gan graduated from London School of Economics and Political Science with a Bachelor of Science (Economics) degree in 1996. She attained Master in Business Administration from Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 2010.

 

She volunteers with Girl Guides Singapore and was formerly Chief Commissioner of the organisation. She also mentors young women as part of the Young Women’s Leadership Connection mentorship programme. She is married with three daughters.

Professor Chong Tow Chong has been SUTD’s President since 2018 and was SUTD’s founding provost. Prior to joining SUTD, he was the Executive Director of A*STAR’s SERC and DSI. A devoted educator and a renowned researcher in the field of electrical engineering, especially in semiconductor materials and devices for memories and high-speed optoelectronics applications, he received numerous awards such as the President’s Science and Technology Medal, IES-IEEE Joint Medal of Excellence Award and Public Administration Medal – Gold (2021) and Silver (2004).

Mr Unsworth is PwC Singapore’s  Digital Business Leader and has previously served as PwC’s technology sector leader for the Asia Pacific region. He oversees a team of 20 partners and 400 professional staff who help our clients manage business risks, enhance governance and controls programmes, comply with regulations and build digital trust.

 

He also serves on our firm’s Leadership Team and has significant experience advising clients around digital business initiatives and managing risks. Mr Unsworth was instrumental in establishing PwC’ Singapore’s “reimagine digital” programne and establishing our Digital Innovation Office. The reimagine digital programme is focused on transforming our delivery of services through technology platforms and new capabilities, building talent capability and services to address clients’ digital agenda as well as investing in development of key digital assets including AI enabled business and smart nation imperatives.

 

Mr Unsworth is a member of a number of our global advisory and editorial committees involved in the development of our Firm’s industry thought leadership and he regularly works with our global and regional industry networks and digital innovation leaders.

Mr Goh serves as the Design Director leading Dell Experience Design Group in Singapore, responsible for crafting the design and experience of Dell’s Display & Peripherals business under Dell and Alienware brand.

Mr Goh is a homegrown Singaporean designer.  He graduated with an Honors Degree in Design from the University of Glasgow in Scotland in 2001.  Upon graduation, Mr Goh began his exciting design career as an Industrial Designer in Panasonic in 2002.  He has since worked in several multi-national companies including Siemens VDO, Creative Technology and Hewlett-Packard. His work experience has allowed him to work on a wide variety of design projects such as audio/video hi-fi systems, LCD TVs, car audio, gaming machines, multimedia speakers, mobile phones and business printers. 

Mr Goh is a creative innovator with a passion in design and more than 20 years of expertise in creating impactful award-winning products across multiple industry verticals.
